Vegetation

This site is dominated by coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens; 36m tall) in the highest strata and California bay (Umbellularia californica; 10-15m tall) and Cotoneaster sp. (7m tall) in the lower tree strata. The understory includes sword fern (Polystichum sp.), periwinkle (Vinca major), both native blackberry (Rubus ursinus) and Himalayan blackberry (Rubus discolor), Carex barbarae, and ivy (non-native).
